(22 February 2010)I run a Videography business which is mainly weddings & web videos. I have a Canon HV30 & an HV40. I shoot virtually everything in HDV and have been using these tapes for a while now. I pleased to say that they have held up well, and of over 10 hours of footage I have noticed only one piece of drop-out. Anyone who records on HDV will know that when you get drop-out, you lose about two seconds of footage. Not usually a problem for most people. However, if you're filming someones wedding the last thing you need is drop-out at the "I do's" or during the speeches. Whilst I'm not saying that by using these tapes you will eliminate drop-out problems, they do seem to minimize it. I shoot the important stuff on two cameras anyway and record the sound seperatly on a Zoom H2 mic. I have used the more expensive Sony HDV tapes, but can find no real difference between them and these. Good value genuine miniDV tapes (04 November 2009)Priced so low these are an exceptional buy. Call me old school but I like to be able to archive my footage 60 minutes at a time - rather than leaving 30 hours on a HDD camcorder to be lost/damaged/deleted by accident. Quality at a Good Price (08 October 2009)I've been using these Sony tapes for about three years with no technical issues at all. I am a freelance sports cameraman and footage shot on these tapes has been used regularly by our ITV regional news studio with no complaints.
