| ![]() | Customer Reviews:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Broke after 3 months (28 July 2010)Did seem like a nice little drive to start with (aside from the annoying light on it), but after 3 months of use, some files couldn't be accessed or transfered elsewhere (new & older files). After trying to copy all my data off, found some couldn't so some data lost forever. So for what it supposed to be - an external backup drive, it has failed. Amazon were great in sorting out the collection / refund, but now I'm not sure what to buy as have had one of these & an internal WD drive go wrong & both are supposed to be very good brands. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Samsung Story Station 1.5TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive (27 July 2010)About this harddrive i was not really satisfied in a way of when it start to search something, sometimes i will heard some noise coming out from the harddisk. But overall it is a good HD if compare with others, the outlook design etc. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() beautifull product (25 July 2010)got this on a friends recomendation (also bought form amazon) so far has been excellent . i love the clever and hassle free idea of the power switch on front.a very clever design. looks good and does the job. i use it to store and play music and video into the sumvision cyclone mkv and there is no stuttering or delay in watching or listening even for very long hours. just make sure like all electronics to have it on a surface that allows air to circulate around it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ticks all the boxes (23 July 2010)I have had quite a few external hard drives over the years and for such an easy concept, they seem to have all had some niggling issue. The Samsung Story is the first that really got it right. First of all it looks fantastic. Its a brushed metal look which instantly makes it look better than the usual super high gloss that end up looking "plasticy". One of my pet peeves of many hard drives is the led light. It is usually way too bright and flashes enough to make you feel like you are in a disco. One of the most appreciated little features is the ability to turn the light down on this unit. The light is also a very attractive whiteish underlight that gives the unit a soft glow. As far as ease of use, there is a trend amongst external hard drives to offer way too much functionality which impacts the basic need to just store stuff. I was glad to see with this unit I just plug it in and get to it. It's fairly fast and I am easily able to stream HD movies from it to my DSM-330 media streamer. Highly Recommended! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good product (23 July 2010)SO far so good. It's fast and looks good. Quite heavy though, so not really ideal for carrying around in your laptop bag. Would recommend this product anyway. |
