| ![]() | Customer Reviews:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() not robust (02 June 2010)I bought one of these just over a year ago. I mainly used it to listen to audio books and the sound quality is fine for that. I was initially quite happy with it, however, now the warranty has expired, the cd player has started jumping and it is un-usable. Admittedly it had been moved around the house quite a lot and probably received a few bumps, but it is supposed to be portable and I had expected it to survive longer than it has. I'm now on the look out for something more robust. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Roberts cd radio (06 April 2010)This is a very good product at good price, delivery was on time, sound quality on both FM and CD is excellent,a compact good looking product finished in white, all is what expected of a Roberts product!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Quality item (24 March 2009)This item is brillaint, easy to set up and the sound quality is very good for such a small item. The CD is easy to use and functions correctly as you would expect from this manufacturer. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Very good, but a few niggles (11 May 2007)Overall, I'm very pleased with mine. The sound quality is remarkably good, the digital radio tuning is much less fiddly than a dial, and the overall package is neat and compact. However, it's let down by the control buttons. The radio tuning buttons double as CD buttons, which is fine in principle, but these are a little small and a little stiff. I'm sure it wouldn't have cost much more to make them a little bigger and easier to use ... and while they are at it, the LCD display could have been bigger and more detailed. The most annoying thing, though, is the smallest: the switch which selects between radio, CD and off. Not only is it small, it's a strange ship which makes it hard to grip, and it's stiff to turn. The volume knob is great, and it's a pit this switch was designed as intelligently. However, those are all niggles. Overall, this is compact and elegant unit which avoids looking too fashion-driven, and it feels solidly made without being too heavy. I'm very impressed with the sound quality, and despite my niggles about the controls, I don't regret my choice. It's just a pity that it comes so close to being a perfect compact portable stereo, without quite getting there. |
