Customer Reviews:

  A simple wireless adapter. (07 September 2010)
I've been through several wireless USB adapters of other manufacturers, all with varied performance, and some even died after a few weeks. I'm happy that this Netgear adapter has so far lasted the longest - half a year, under regular usage of browsing the net, downloads, playing games etc.

Installing it is easy and takes a minute with Windows XP, however I had issues setting it up in Windows 7. The connection is stable, and it picks up an ok signal strength from a router that is 2 rooms away (divided by brick walls). I've noticed it can get very hot when used for long periods of time, so it's best not to leave it on overnight probably.

The one thing I dislike about this adapter is it's activity LED - it is way too powerful and can turn any dark room into a disco (ok maybe a little over exaggeration here). Overall, it gets the job done nicely of setting up a wireless network and to connect to the net.

Worst mistake ever (05 September 2010)
This wirless adapter has to be the worst piece of junk I ever bought. I would'nt mind if it just didn't work, then I could return it & try something else, but it drops connection constantly then reconnects. If you're trying to book a flight then its a bloody nightmare as it drops connection at crucial moments.
If you are thinking that it may be a problem with the router then you are mistaken. I have a work laptop right next to the PC using this wireless adapter & it has rarely dropped a connetion & always has either "very good" or "excellent" signal strength.
Don't touch these wirless adapters with a barge-pole.
I have no problem with the seller & I'd definitely use them again, its just that most of these wireless adapters are pretty much useless. You'd be much better off with a Homeplug.

Works wonders with windows 7 (31 August 2010)
After reading around found this little beauty. So glad i decided to buy, router is situated in another room so needed a good network adapter for my Pc desktops and im more than impressed with the performance of this little guy. Would happily recommend! Even discovered it works with a mac running 10.5 which is why i shall be investing in another very soon!

Very strong signal, low price (26 August 2010)
This USB adaptor is cheaper than most PCI card wireless adaptors, but is much more versatile and easier to install.
It is easy to install, and comes with a decent wireless connection tool. It comes with several 'enhancements', such as a USB extension cable and a sticky mounting bracket, to allow you to attach it to a wall/desk/etc.

While it does seem to get quite hot during use, the signal strength is absolutely amazing. At the point where my computer/laptop's built-in wireless is dropping in and out, this is giving me between 2-3 bars of signal - enough to even stream movies over my home network. It consistently gives me at least 2 bars stronger signal than the various built-in wireless adaptors of my computers and laptops.

The only downsides to it are that it absolutely needs the given drivers (or you can download them) to work - windows can't automatically find them - and that it does not support wireless n, though this is not surprising for the price.

I also found that the given drivers are out of date, so I downloaded the most up-to-date version from the Netgear website.

I would strongly recommend this to anyone either wanting to have wireless ability, or anyone who wishes to get a stronger signal/connection.

  Netgear WG111 wireless adaptor (26 August 2010)
Totally reliable product, would recommend to anyone who wants to connect to a near by wireless router within the home.
