Needs to be better quality ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() CONVERT TAPES TO COMPUTER FILES (09 July 2010)For many years I have collected spoken word cassette tapes, mainly featuring classic radio shows such as The Goon shows, Hancock, The Navy lark etc As the cassette tape has been phased out and I have a substantial collection taking up a large amount of space, I needed some means of transfering the material to disc or computer file. This product does exactly that. It is so simple to use, just download the software provided, plug the player into a USB port on the computer and away you go. The software has a gain facility which removes most of the dreaded tape hiss, and when finished the file is stored in an "I Tunes" folder on the computer. The only downside I can think of, and it isnt really a problem is that it only works in real time, there is no fast download speed, so I will have to listen to all my collection again whilst transfering. Oh woe is me!! lol. If you have a tape collection you want to transfer and preserve, or just want to have the facility to play your tapes again, I would reccomend this product. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fabbo bit of kit!!! (13 May 2010)I ordered the above mentioned, it arrived, promptly as usual within a couple of days. Dead easy to use. AMAZON has done it for me again. Thanks x ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() not quite right (03 May 2010)Tape has everything you need with a usb take off and headphone socket it even plays both sides without turning the tape unfortunatly it's let down by the program changing it to mp3. Tracks are not seperated and some tapes have not converted after taping. I've ended up using a sound editor and seperating the tracks myself by use of the earphone outlet and into the mic in so I may as well bought a cheapo player and saved some dosh. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Did I get the right one? (18 April 2010)I did order and pay this item but on the manual and the product is written only Ion Tape Express - so I am not sure which I review now. I am not able to use it at all! Does it need to be "powered"? How? I did connect it to the usb of my PC, I did install the software, but nothing happens. Beside, I want to transfer, digitalize my stories, not music, so no soundtracks or short stops, and anyway it does not even starts! I put two stars only because perhaps there is a way to figure out how it works finally. |
