Great value item. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Keeps growing on me (17 October 2009)I was given this for my birthday (I'm mid 40s) early 2009 - it was my 1st MP3 player. Have to admit that I was not sure what to do with it at first. My son had pre loaded it with music and the odd 'Friends' episode and I made all the right noises at the time without really knowing what to do with it! 9 months later, I am now in love. I do a fair amount of travelling and this gadget (next to my Tom Tom!) continues to excel. Be it music, podcasts, tv series, films, news, sports updates, skiing conditions, maps, weather etc, it continues to make light of potentially long dull days. I have just spent 18 hours in a car over the last two days in europe and the podcasts (through a cheap itrip) kept both my wife and me entertained for hours - it even stopped me getting wound up in hour traffic jam! Every loving wife needs to buy her husband one of these! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() iPod Touch 16GB (26 May 2009)Awesome bit of kit. What can one say after sitting in a cafe in Southern Spain and surfing the net whilst enjoying a latte.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not built to last (06 November 2008)Having had an Ipod classic which stopped working after just 15 months and then a 'refurbished' version which lasted not quite a year I tried to dissuade my son from purchasing another Ipod. Won over, however, by its style and the new 'touch' gadgets I was over ruled and a 16gb Touch was purchased in September. Yesterday, after less than 2 months, it has given up the ghost - broken - won't even switch on! Why oh why do people buy these things - they are not built to last - please don't be swayed by the looks and gadgets - and if you do buy make sure you take out some sort of breakdown insurance - you are sure to need it!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It really is as amazing as it looks. (30 September 2008)I'd like to keep this review brief and down to a few key points, as there are a lot of long reviews on this page already. 1) The interface really is as good as it looks. It is extremely smooth, exceptionally intuitive and virtually perfect. Not only does it look amazing, but its very efficient. The only one tiny flaw I find is that if the name of a song is above a certain length, it is truncated with no way of viewing the full song name. I don't ever find this to be a major problem, though. 2) The screen is not as prone to scratches as you might think. I have had my iPod Touch for a few months now, and while being a careful owner I wouldn't say I've gone out of my way to protect the screen. Desipte this, its still as unblemished as when I bought it. 3) If your music collection isn't organised (correctly tagged, including album art), be prepared to spend time organising it. While not essential to have everything nicely organised, the iPod Touch is a vastly better machine when everything is. Only then do you really appreciate all the thought that has gone into the interface. To summarise, I would recommend the iPod Touch as an excellent mp3 player. It is extremely expensive and its easy to think that the money is just being spent on stlye, however this is not the case. Your money is being spent on the most easy to use, efficient and user-friendly interface yet seen on an mp3 player. An absolute joy to use. |
